Simple is a start-up
that is on its way to reinventing how banking customers interact with
their personal finances. Say goodbye to fees, and overdrafts.
Simple's team of engineers, businessmen, and interns have
collaborated on a banking system that works for you. Their
web/App-based banking system lets you see in real time what you are
safe to spend, while letting you set goals for saving. Need help with
your SimpleVisa card? No, problem! Simple offers customer relation
support night and day through a number of communication outlets
including phone, text, email, skype, and many more. Once BankSimple,
the team has decided to re-brand to a much more fitting name; Simple.
With the original
developers reaching from Portland, Oregon to Brooklyn, New York, and
even San Francisco, California, all customers are taken into
consideration with every aspect of Simple. Simple now has more than
30 full time employees and many interns that are working around the
clock to make the customers banking experience an joyful and
interactive one. Portland, Oregon is now Simple's home. Having all of
the developers in one area has proven a success for Simple as they
newly were awarded 10 million in additional funding in August from IA
Ventures, and Shasta Ventures.
Simple works for
all banking customers. It gives you the tools to become your own
financial planner, letting you set savings goals, and giving you tips
on how to save money, and letting you set reoccurring monthly bill
pay. Simple has also made transferring money to private parties easy.
With the iPhone application, you can easily transfer money to anyone
anywhere quickly and safely. Simple's data security team has made it
so banking security is a non-issue, with all funds being help at
partner banks in FDIC insured accounts. On September 21st,
2011 Simple opened its doors to the public, welcoming its first
non-employee customers.
Based on the amount
of funding that has supported this venture it is apparent that growth
is plausibly attainable. The service that Simple brings to its
customers makes it a very competitive banking alternative. With
controlled growth, Simple in time has the possibility of being a
nation wide company. While there has been ING that has offered a
similar product, Simple is different. ING is for customers that are
looking to gain interest on large deposits. Simple is different in
the fact that they want to be your everyday bank. They want their
customers to use their SimpleVisa card for everything from coffee to
furniture.
